Creditinfo Knowledge Centre: Workshop on Credit Risk Automation and Credit Scoring in Kiev

Creditinfo in cooperation with International Bureau of Credit Histories have held a workshop on Credit Risk Automation and Credit Scoring. During these two days seminar participants had unique opportunity to get acquainted not only with the key principles and process of scorecards development, but with more broad issues of using scoring as a strong risk management tool at all stages of credit cycle.

The course well received by participants from a wide range of banks and financial institutions.  Paul Randall, Managing Director of Creditinfo Decision, explained “Training and knowledge transfer is central to the philosophy of Creditinfo, as we work to support businesses in improving their risk management infrastructure. The first part of the seminar offered the detailed step-by-step presentation of the scorecard development process. Where relevant, the key stages were accompanied by the demonstration of the Paragon Modeller software which Creditinfo uses for models development.

Second day presentations and discussions covered the whole range of the topics relevant to scoring applications through the credit cycle: from models implementation and monitoring to using score results to meet the business objectives of the financial institutions with the direct impact on bottom line.

“It was very interesting and important to cover scoring from the business point of view as well. Quite often we go too deep into mathematics, and then have a lot of argument with the business line. However, these conflicts between risk and business are easily avoidable.” – Anna Sechkar (Analyst Risk Management, Privat Bank).

One of the training’s special features was complete involvement of all the participants into the process via interactive sessions and exercises. Our firm belief is that strong and regular communication with the audience during the training helps participants to get the most from the seminar, and then successfully apply acquired knowledge in practice.

For those interested in more advanced tools of the scorecards development, Creditinfo can offer specialized workshop/practical session. Here, in addition to theoretical background, all participants will have at-firsthand opportunity to work with the model development software and create their own scorecard.
